Water Children!

Our school is very fortunate to have access to the Auroa community swimming pool, meaning all of  the classes at our school are able to have daily swimming practise.  This has been great recently because the weather has been so sunny!  Our class, Room 1, has swimming practise every morning at 9:30am.  In the afternoon a small group of students from our class, also get in the pool with the juniors to help with their water confidence, which I don't think they mind at all, as the afternoon gets very hot!

The kind of things our class has been practising are all four strokes, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.  Lately we have been focussing on survival skills and doing activities such as, sidestroke and treading water for a time limit of 5-10 minutes!  This has proven quite a challenge for some of us!  All classes are gearing up for our schools swimming sports in a few weeks time, I can't wait!  My favourite stroke is butterfly, what's yours?

Here is a picture of some of our juniors practising their swimming in the big pool with assistance from our seniors.

This is a great tile. Thrilled with what you've written and I think having the photographs laid out like you have does add to the appeal of what you've written.
